Kendal Town took maximum points on the road again with an impressive performance at North Ferriby. On a day that saw many games called off, it was good to see that the weather was set fair in East Yorkshire. Kendal Town started the game the better of the two sides with some neat, sharp passing. Town went ahead on 10 minutes as Ferriby defender Danny Moore deflected the ball into his own net after Carl Osman had put a dangerous cross into the area. Town doubled their lead on 22 minutes when Carl Osman got on the end of an Alex Taylor cross, beating a defender before slamming the ball home. Ferriby's Colin Hunter was unkucky to see a long range effort strike the post. A storming run from Town's Lee Mulvaney was almost finished off by Carl Osman at the back post. Shortly after Alex Taylor had an effort blocked following a great move from Town. On 36 minutes Osman needlessly climbed all over a Ferriby forward at a free kick and a penalty was awarded. Gary Bradshaw scored from the spot, though Newnes did get a hand to it. A moment of controversy just before half time as Town 'keeper Newnes handled outside the area, with most of the crowd expecting a red card, a yellow card was shown. The second half started in a similar fashion to the first with Kendal Town on top. Osman and Taylor were involved in a great move that was only thwarted by a last ditch tackle. Michael Cole saw a good header saved. A great ball into the area from Neil Murphy was scrambled clear, Osman headed wide from the resulting corner. Craig Hobson replaced the excellent Alex Taylor on 84 minutes. Two great saves from Kendal's David Newnes in the dying moments ensured Town's lead, one of the saves was world class !! Michael Cole was dismissed in the last minute for an alledged two footed challenge. A great win today for Ashcroft's men, Lee was understandably delighted at the full time whistle
